Can We Honor Verlander?

The Tigers have been average in defensive runs saved (DRS), with 32 DRS, which is below the league average. This has raised concerns about their overall defensive capabilities. The Tigers Have a lot of injuries, including key contributors in both pitching and fielding. It has gotten to a point where they are using prospects and call ups to fill the gapssince we have so many injuries. McKinstry does not have a return date and we had to recall Hao-Yu Lee to replace him, Along with Trey Sweeney our shortstop there is a massive gap currently on the left side of the field.

On paper, the Tigers are completely out of playoff run chances due to all of these injuries. But I think the Tigers still have a shot. It is still early in the season so the injured players have time to rest up and get better before we hit more crucial parts of the season. The best way for the Tigers to stay afloat is to not fall behind in the standings, which is easier said than done, they cannot keep throwing games away. If they far too far down and get in a drought, at that point, it'll be way harder to catch back up and make the playoffs.
